Subscriber Controls and Delivery Preferences
Beeprd is designed so subscribers can control the signals they receive.
What subscribers can control
Depending on the surface and plan context, subscriber controls can include:
- Signal categories
- Broadcast alerts on or off
- Delivery cadence
- Pause or mute behavior
- Priority interruption preferences
Delivery cadence options
Beeprd supports cadence-aware delivery such as:
- Instant
- Daily
- Weekly
- Monthly
Default behavior should feel calm and respectful, not noisy.
Owner notification controls
Profile owners can turn **New subscriber pings** on or off in Settings -> Notifications. When enabled, Beeprd creates an in-app ping and, when installed-app phone alerts are enabled, a Web Push phone alert when someone new joins their signal network.
Subscriber update controls
Subscribers can separately control regular automatic update pings from profiles they follow. Turning off regular update pings does not turn off new-subscriber alerts for their own profile and does not change broadcast alert preferences.
V1 delivery behavior
Beeprd V1 creates in-app pings for matching subscriber signals first.
Subscribers who install Beeprd on their phone as a mobile web/PWA app and grant notification permission can also enable Web Push phone alerts from Settings -> Notifications.
Beeprd V1 does not send every signal through Resend email. Email stays reserved for account, billing, support, and future digest-style delivery where appropriate.
Why this matters
Subscriber control is one of Beeprd's core trust features.
It helps:
- reduce notification fatigue
- keep updates relevant
- protect signal quality over time
Broadcasts vs automatic signals
Automatic signals come from connected sources.
Direct broadcasts are intentional manual sends and should feel higher value.
Subscribers can often choose whether they want broadcasts in addition to automatic updates.
If a subscriber says Beeprd is too noisy
Check:
- whether categories are too broad
- whether cadence should be reduced
- whether broadcasts should be disabled
- whether the person should pause or mute a followed profile temporarily
